 Glenrothes Select Reserve is a vatting of casks from different years, all reserved for this expression, with the emphasis on quality sand consistency. It is a non-vintage-specific selection chosen by the malt master with the same care and to the same award-winning standards as the vintage selections. By selecting from batches from different, unspecified years, this selection is available on an on-going basis rather than as a one-off, limited quantity bottling. This will make The Glenrothes more accessible to whisky lovers, wherever they may be. As with every other expression of The Glenrothes, Select Reserve is instantly recognisable from its distinctive bottle. The front label of each bottle carries the malt master’s tasting notes; the character of Select Reserve is described as “Ripe fruits, citrus, vanilla, hints of spice”. This expression has a nose of plums with orange zest; the palate features vanilla with the typically creamy texture associated with The Glenrothes. The finish is slightly spicy. “Select Reserve is the essence of all that is The Glenrothes in its early prime. Laden with ripe fruits, citrus, vanilla, and a hint of spice – this savouring, fresh single malt is characteristically complex with a deliciously creamy texture on the palate.
