 Three Ships 10yo Single Malt Whiskey is from South Africa, not a country renowed for their production of the nectar of the gods. However, the James Sedgewick Distillery, Wellington, South Africa won Distillery of the Year 2011 in Whisky Magazine. The three ships expression commemorates the three ships that formed Bartholomew Diaz's fleet of 1487 that were tasked to sail from Portugal round the tip of Southern Africa and establish trade routes to the East. It has a soft smokiness and underlying floral fragrance. Slightly sweet but mouth warming. |
