Whisky is the traditional drink of British farmers and in certain parts of the country it is affectingly known as 'sheep dip'. The story goes that in days gone by, farmers made their own whisky and hid it in barrels marked 'sheep dip' to avoid tax. From that custom comes the name of the malt whisky. The pure malty flavours are drawn from the four distilling regions of Scotland. Each area forges and makes its own contribution to this outstanding whisky- the main accent coming from the Highlands and Speyside. On the nose it is delicate and refined with soft floral notes and an array of delicate fruits. On the palate there are hints of fruit and malty flavours with grass and spice. |
