 Yoichi 10 year old Whisky is a Japanese single malt whisky from the Nikka stable. The Yoichi Distillery, founded in 1934, is located 50 kilometeres west of Sapporo on the island of Hokkaido. It has an underground water source that is filtered through peat. The pot stills are still heated by naked flames in the true tradition of whisky making. It is the colour of amber with a clean nose with slight spicy notes, on the second smell fragrances of apple and apricot are apparent. On the palate it is very rounded with vanilla flavour and a perfect balance between oaky and fruity notes. The finish is long and reveals remarkable fruit, oak and floral notes. |
