 Miyagikyo 12 year old Single Malt Whisky is from the Nikka stable. The Miyagikyo Distillery, founded 1969, is located on the island of Honshu to the west of the city of Sendai. This site was chosen for its pure air and high humidity levels which are perfect for ageing in barrels. The environment is similar to that of the Cairngorms in Scotland. It is the colour of golden amber. On the nose it has floral notes with hints of toffee and undertones of sherry wood. On the palate there is a sherry flavour with a mellow texture with delicious chocolate brownie flavours and delicate coffee and salty notes. The finish is long and rich. |
