Poit Dhubh (pronounced Potch Goo or PD for short) means "illicit still" in Gaelic. It is an unchilfiltered may which may become hazy it cold but this delivers a richer, fuller flavour with a longer after-taste as a result. It is created from a secret recipe from a high quality mixture of Islay, Island, Highland and Speyside malts. This allows it a unique sweety/peaty taste. On the nose it has a sweet aroma of vanilla wrapped in a warm blanket of peat and oak. On the palate it has a powerful of peat and oak which are held in check by a sweet sherry smoothness and a joyful syrupyness. The finish has a length that goes on and on. |
