Poit Dhubh (pronounced Potch Goo or PD for short) means "illicit still" in Gaelic. It is an unchilfiltered may which may become hazy it cold but this delivers a richer, fuller flavour with a longer after-taste as a result. It is created from a secret recipe from a high quality mixture of Islay, Island, Highland and Speyside malts. This allows it a unique sweety/peaty taste. On the nose it has a firm dark smokiness with hints of liquorice and lime. On the palate it is medium sweet with a rich backbone of peatiness. On the finish it is long, smooth and smoky. |
