 Locke's Blend Irish Whiskey is brought to you by the Cooley Distillery. The Locke's Irish Whiskey brand originates from Locke's Distillery in Kilbeggan, Co. Westmeath which is situated along the banks of the river Brusna in the heart of Ireland. When the distillery shut in 1953 Cooleys took over the brand and have had great success with it. Locke's Irish Whiskey is made from marrying malt and grain whiskey together. This fine whiskey is double distilled in traditional pot stills and patent stills and uses only the finest malted barley, maize and the purest Irish spring water. Maturation of Locke's Irish Whiskey takes place in the 200 year old warehouses in Kilbeggan. The nose is a delicious combination of sweetness and malt. On the palate it is sweet and smooth at first before filling out into a malty and spicey middle with delightful honeyed sweetness. On the finish it is soft, clean and quite malty with a little oloroso sherry wood shining through. |
