Evan Williams 23 year old Single Barrel Bourbon is a heavy wieght from the Heavenhill corner. on the nose it is a veritable feast something akin to openign the lid on a box of dark chocolates with chewy chocolate cherries, Turkish coffee, sweet spices, maple syrup and pine. On the palate it is a scrumptious dark chocolate rum truffle rolled over oak. On the finish it is long and warming and syrupy. Dave Broom commented "In a battle between grippy oak and the powerful sweet spirit the latter wins – just. One ice cube is enough. Great for its age" |
