Kraken Black Spiced Rum is named after the dark, mysterious beast of Greek mythology The Kraken. Unlike many of the other fabled creatures of ancient history which are firmly based in folklore there are tales from old salty sea dogs that hint that perhaps there were Kraken like creatures that dwelled in the dark, murky depths of the ocean. The base rum is from Trinidad and Tobago and distilled from molasses which is made from local sugar cane and then aged for 12-24 months. It is then blended with a mixture of spices which include cinnamon, ginger and clove. Here the beast shows it's softer side by being kind to those with gluten intolerences and vegans. |
