
Glenglassaugh Distillery Co. Ltd, was formed in February 2008 with the task of resurrecting Glenglassaugh distillery which had lain silent since November 1986. The new owners, the Scaent Group, finally started producing spirit at the tail end of November 2008. The distillery was never marketed as a single malt whisky by the previous owners but was always one of the main component parts of the Famous Grouse and Cutty Sark blended whiskies. A bottling of just 8,000, this spirit cannot legally be called whisky as it is not yet 3 years old. Matured in Californian red wine casks for 6 months. A nose reminiscent of strawberry jam, cranberry juice and sweet pastries. Soft spice on the palate with a slightly dry finish.
