Chamucos is made in Mazamitla, Jalisco, in the high altitude region of Lake Chapala. It is double distilled from 100% Blue Agave under the watchful eye of Master Distiller Wilfrido Ortega Casas. Wilifrido learned his craft at the Siete Leguas Plant under the watchful eye of the man responsible for creating the first incarnation of Patron Tequila. The original concept came from Mexican film director Antonio Urrutia and his Artist friend who designed the label in homage to the political satirical caricaturist Jose Guadalupe Posada, a legendary folkloric hero in Mexico. On the nose it has pleasant fruit, vanilla and chocolate notes. On the palate it is smooth and sweet with hints of almonds, prunes and chocolate, which convey the maturity of theTequila aged in white oak. |
