 This is an 8 year old offering from the Glenmorangie distillery. It is a pleasant drink with an interesting freshness. Bailie Nicol Jarvie or BNJ as it's commonly known, has one of the highest malt contents of any blended whisky and contains only 'first class' ranked malts in the blend. Smooth, subtle and full of character, it has a delicate balance of sweet Speyside, aromatic Highland and peaty Islay malt whiskies blended with only the finest grain whisky. Named after a fictional character in Sir Walter Scott's 'Rob Roy' novel, Bailie Nicol Jarvie was a Glaswegian magistrate who distinguished himself in one famous incident in the book by tackling a fierce Highlander with a red-hot poker! TASTING NOTES: Smooth blend offering notes of vanilla and pears. Full flavoured with a trace of smoke and a warm and balanced finish. |
