 Akvavit is Scandinavian for 'water of life', aromatised with fragrant spices: aniseed, fennel, dill, cumin, caraway and bitter orange. It is taken on a voyage lasting several months, during which it crosses the equator twice. Hence the name Linie = Equator. |
