VAT 69 premium blended Scotch whisky, first produced in 1882 by William Sanderson of Leith. VAT 69 was taken by Sir Ernest Shackleton on his Trans-Atlantic expedition of 1914 for 'medicinal and celebratory purposes'. Otherwise known as the Pope's telephone number!
