The 17th-century French poet and playwright Hercule Savinien de Cyrano, Sieur
de Bergerac - known to history as Cyrano de Bergerac - was a contemporary of Molière. He was famous for his extraordinary nose and for his passion, both of which are
commemorated in Edmond Rostand's late nineteenth-century play Cyrano de Bergerac.
A dark and fragrant wine from the hand-picked Syrah grapes, famous for its nose and for the passions that it inspires when accompanied by flavourful and spicy foods. Cyrano is made entirely from the particularly rich Syrah grown in the heart of Provence. Chateau Routas wines have achieved many distinctions, including being named 'one of the best wine producers in Provence' by Robert Parker. The chateau and winery were purchased in 2005 by Sir David Murray, the Scottish entrepreneur. |
