The Miolo Family emigrated from Italy to Brazil in 1897, hoping to find new opportunities. Giuseppe Miolo was determined to make wines of quality and tradition. All of the Miolo wines are produced from grapes grown in the Brazilian Vale dos Vinhedos (Vineyard Valley) which was the first area to in Brazil to obtain geographical indictaion, certified by a Seal of origin. It is no coincidence that this wine is called Lote 43 as this was the number of the lot that Giuseppe Miolo first bought in Brazil. Miolo Lote 43 fools you into thinking you are drinking a good Cru Bourgeois. It is well structured, with intense blackcurrant, elegant minerality and hints of spice. These flavours come from the expert blending of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot which are then aged in oak for one year and in the bottle for a further two years. This wine is produced only when outstanding vintages occur.
